AI in Action Virtual Series - NCW Tech Alliance

AI in Action Session Dates:
November 18 | 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
In our next session, you’ll hear from:

  • Katie Finnegan, Content Manager at Code.org, will share how their Hour of AI initiative introduces students to foundational AI concepts through engaging, age-appropriate activities that emphasize ethical use and real-world impact. She’ll also highlight free resources and tools designed to help students, families, and communities begin exploring AI and continue learning throughout the year.
  • Nick Ellingson, Startup Ambassador at WTIA, will join us to share insights from his new children’s book, The ABCs of AI. Blending playful storytelling with foundational concepts, Nick’s work helps families and educators spark curiosity and build early understanding of artificial intelligence.
  • Alex Liu, AI in Education Researcher and PhD candidate at the University of Washington, will share findings from recent studies exploring how generative AI can support teacher learning and instructional design. Representing Colleague AI, Alex’s work bridges with machine learning and explores both the promise and limitations of AI-powered tools. Her experiences give us a look at current research, applications and collaborations to inform responsible, research-based approaches to AI integration.
  • Joel Graves, Senior Business Program Manager at Microsoft, will share how Microsoft's Global Customer Success organization is turning AI into real field impact. Joel Graves will share the story of the Microsoft Services Sales Agent—built with Copilot Studio and delivered through M365 Copilot—that brings curated sales and services knowledge right where our teams work. He'll cover what they built first, how they piloted it, and practical patterns to equip field teams at scale to better support customers of all sizes
Each session is designed to be approachable, inspiring, and grounded in real-world examples.
